Job Description
Hill College is seeking a Strategic Procrastination Advisor, a unique position dedicated to helping students and staff approach productivity, workload management and decision-making from a more considered perspective. This role recognises that not every task requires immediate action and that, when used appropriately, postponing a task can provide valuable time for reflection, planning and reconsideration.
The Strategic Procrastination Advisor will support individuals in identifying when tasks should be prioritised, delayed, reconsidered or delegated. Through thoughtful guidance and practical strategies, the role encourages a balanced approach to productivity that allows individuals to manage competing responsibilities without unnecessary pressure. The position promotes the concept of purposeful procrastination, ensuring that delaying a task is a considered decision rather than simply avoiding it.
The successful candidate will collaborate across academic programs, student leadership and community initiatives to encourage effective time management and reflective approaches to workload. They will assist students and staff in understanding the difference between productive preparation and unnecessary delay, while promoting a culture where taking time to think can contribute to better outcomes.
This position requires a calm and thoughtful communicator who understands that sometimes the most appropriate response to a task is to consider it carefully, schedule it for later, and then actually remember to complete it.
